🚀 How to Start Gardening
Gardening unlocks automatically during the early tutorial stages. To begin, you need three things: seeds, a planter (or designated gardening spot), and a way to water/tend plants.
Get Seeds
Obtain seeds from Blanc's Gardening Store, quest rewards, or NPC gifts. Blanc will gift you tomato seeds to get started!
Plant in Planter
Place the seeds into a planter to start growth. Each plot can hold several plants. Plant one crop type per plot to keep things simple.
Water & Tend
Water and tend the planted seeds until they mature. Use your watering can regularly - Blanc gives you your first one!
Harvest Crops
Harvest when crops are mature to obtain vegetables, fruits, and materials. Sell them or use for cooking!
📈 Gardening Level
Your Gardening level increases as you perform gardening actions and complete gardening-related tasks. Farming level 2 allows better crop efficiency, so prioritize leveling up early!
Ways to Gain Gardening XP:
- Planting seeds into planters
- Watering and tending growing plants
- Harvesting mature crops
- Completing gardening requests/quests (including Blanc's quests)
⭐ Gardening Perks
Raising your Gardening level unlocks powerful perks that improve what you can do with the hobby.
More Seed Variety
Access to a wider variety of seeds and higher-tier crops as you level up.
Improved Efficiency
Better efficiency in maintaining larger gardens with quality-of-life improvements.
Crafting Materials
More consistent supply of raw materials for Crafting and Cooking.
Better Profits
Better profit potential through higher-value harvests and rare crops.
💰 Gold Farming Strategy
Gardening is one of the best ways to farm Gold in Heartopia! Before you think about serious gold farming, you need to level up your hobby. Gardening and Fishing are great for farming Gold, so leveling both hobbies to Level 2 should be your priority.
Your gardening success fuels your cooking adventures - some of the best profits come from turning crops into cooked dishes! Start with gardening, then fishing, followed by cooking. This creates a profit loop through ingredients and sales.
Best Profit Tips:
💡 Practical Gardening Tips
Keep a steady cycle: plant → tend → harvest, so you always have something growing.
Mix crop timings to avoid "empty garden" periods - some crops mature faster than others.
Prioritize actions that reliably increase Gardening level - planting and harvesting are most consistent.
Use harvests strategically: sell surplus for income, reserve key materials for Crafting or Cooking.
Always watch harvest timing and weather so crops are not wasted.
Expand your garden as you progress - more plots mean more income!
