Important: Choose the same regional server as your friends from the start. Region choice is still the main thing that can split characters and co-op access.

The official Steam page lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer, which confirms the main crossplay claim. Steam also launched on January 16, 2026, so PC availability is no longer speculative.
What the official store pages still do not spell out in detail is server-region behavior. The advice to lock your group onto one region and one bound account comes from repeat community testing plus in-game behavior, not from a public developer matrix.
Server Regions - Important!
While cross-platform play is fully supported, there's one important limitation to know about:
Server Region Matters
Players must be on the same regional server to play together. If you're on the Europe server and your friend is on the America server, you cannot play together.

Choose Wisely
When you first start the game, coordinate with your friends to pick the same server region. Community reports say switching regions later starts a new character and your original progress stays on the old server.
Auto-Save & Cloud Sync
Heartopia uses automatic cloud saving to protect your progress:
- Auto-save triggers: Game saves automatically when you exit buildings, complete crafting/selling, or finish major actions
- Cloud sync: Progress syncs across PC, iOS, and Android when bound to the same account
- Manual save: You can also manually trigger a save from the Settings menu anytime
- Save frequency: Game saves to local device continuously, then syncs to cloud periodically
Save Data Location
Your progress is tied to your account, not your device. Logging in with the same account on any device will automatically sync your progress. See our Save Data Guide for backup instructions.
Cross-save vs. cross-region progress
There are two separate ideas players often mix together:
- Cross-save / cross-progression: Use the same bound account so your devices point at the same progression record.
- Cross-region: Region selection still matters. If you switch to another region, community reports say your original character stays on the old region.
- Steam is live on PC: Steam released on January 16, 2026, so this is no longer a future-only path.
- Best practice: Keep one bound account plus one server region across TapTap, Steam, and mobile.
How to Enable Cross-Save
- Open Settings in your Watch menu
- Go to Account settings
- Bind your account to an email or Google account
- Log in with the same account on your other devices
Play the PC Version on Your Phone (OSLink)
If you want PC gameplay on mobile without installing the full client, OSLink lets your phone connect to the PC version through remote streaming.

- Start Heartopia on PC, then connect from your phone.

How to Add Friends
To play with friends across platforms, you need to add them using their UID:
Find Your UID
Go to Settings in your Watch menu. Your UID is displayed there.
Share UIDs with Friends
Exchange UIDs with your friends outside the game (Discord, text, etc.)
Open Friendship Journal
Access your Friendship Journal from the Watch menu.
Search and Add
Search for your friend's UID and send a friend request. Costs 1 Star.
Good to Know
Sending a friend request costs 1 Star, but accepting a request is free. Stars are easy to earn from daily activities!
Multiplayer Features
Once you've added friends, here's what you can do together:
- Parties: Unlocks at Level 5. Form a party of up to 4 players to stay together in the same instance
- Visit Homes: Tour each other's decorated houses
- Help with Gardening: Water your friend's crops
- Co-op Hobbies: Fish, catch bugs, or birdwatch in the same area
- Town Instances: Each login places you in a town with up to 11 other random players. If you are on the same server but cannot see each other, send a party or co-op invite to join the same instance.
TapTap PC Client Installation
- Visit the Heartopia download page and choose the PC option.
- Install the TapTap desktop client and log in.
- Search for Heartopia in TapTap and click Install.
- Launch the game from your TapTap library.

Use the same account on PC and mobile to keep your progress synced.
