Quick Save Answer
Heartopia uses auto save plus account-based cloud sync. The safest move is to bind your account immediately, stay on the same region, and verify sync before you swap devices or PC launchers.
How Save Data Works
Heartopia uses both local and cloud saves to protect your progress. Understanding how saves work helps prevent data loss.
Local Save
Your game automatically saves to your device locally. This happens:
- Every time you exit a building
- After completing major actions (selling, crafting, etc.)
- Every 5 minutes of gameplay
- When you close the game properly
Cloud Save
Cloud saves sync your progress to servers, allowing you to:
- Transfer progress between devices
- Recover data if your device is lost
- Switch between platforms (with cross-platform enabled)
Important: Link Your Account
Without a linked account, your progress only exists on your device. If you uninstall the game or change devices, you'll lose everything. Link your account immediately!
How to Enable Cloud Save
Open Settings
Tap the gear icon in the top corner of your screen to open the Settings menu.
Go to Account
Select the "Account" or "Link Account" option in the settings menu.
Choose a Login Method
Select Google, Apple, or Facebook to link your account. Follow the authentication prompts.
Confirm Linking
Once linked, you'll see a confirmation message. Cloud save is now active!
Supported Login Methods
Available on Android, iOS, and PC. Most versatile option.
Apple
Available on iOS. Mac availability depends on whether the iOS app is supported.
Available on all platforms. Links with Facebook account.
Recommendation
Google login is recommended for maximum flexibility, as it works across all platforms and devices.
Transferring to a New Device
Step-by-Step Transfer
- On your old device, ensure your account is linked (Settings > Account)
- Install Heartopia on your new device
- Launch the game and tap "Log In" or "Link Account"
- Sign in with the SAME account you used before
- When prompted, choose to load your cloud save
- Your progress will sync to the new device
Save Conflict Warning
If you have progress on both devices, the game will ask which save to keep. Always choose the save with more progress. Double-check the displayed stats before confirming!
Recovering Lost Progress
If Your Account Is Linked
Good news - your data is safe! Simply:
- Reinstall Heartopia
- Log in with your linked account
- Select "Load Cloud Save" when prompted
If Your Account Wasn't Linked
Unfortunately, recovery options are limited:
- Use official support channels: Try in-game Customer Support, the official Discord, or the official Heartopia site/TapTap links instead of relying on an unverified email address.
- Device Backup: Check if you have a device backup that might contain game data
- Receipt Recovery: If you made purchases, support may be able to help identify your account
Prevention Is Key
Without a linked account, data recovery is not guaranteed. Support tries to help but cannot always recover unlinked accounts. Link your account NOW to avoid this situation!
Recovery Checklist
- Confirm which login method you originally used: Google, Apple, Facebook, or another linked option.
- Stay on the same server region before assuming your save is gone.
- Check whether your most recent device had enough time to finish cloud sync before uninstalling or switching launchers.
- Collect your UID, purchase receipts, and device details before contacting in-game support or the official Discord.
Beta Test Data Wipes
Community release notes for closed beta tests indicate that pre-release data was wiped before launch. This means beta progress does not carry over to the global release.
- Closed beta tests are treated as temporary test phases.
- Launch accounts keep progress once the live servers are active.
- If you participated in beta, check in-game mail for any participation rewards tied to the same account.
Cannot Restore Beta Saves
Support teams cannot restore beta data after a wipe. If you need help with a live account, contact support with your UID and account login details.
Troubleshooting
Check your internet connection and ensure you're logged in. Try closing and reopening the game. If issues persist, try unlinking and relinking your account.
Act quickly: gather your UID, device details, and purchase receipts, then use in-game Customer Support or the official Discord support channels. Recovery is not guaranteed, so stop switching devices until you hear back.
Heartopia supports one save per account. To have multiple saves, you'd need separate accounts (Google, Apple, or Facebook).
Go to Settings > Account and select "Unlink Account." Warning: This removes cloud sync protection!
Try reinstalling the game and loading from cloud save. If issues persist, contact support with your Player ID.

- Link Your Account: Do this immediately when starting the game
- Check Sync Status: Periodically verify your cloud save is up to date
- Screenshot Your ID: Take a screenshot of your Player ID from settings
- Don't Force Close: Let the game save before closing the app
- Stable Connection: Play with stable internet for reliable syncing
- Before Switching: Always verify sync before switching devices
